Get Started
- Register: Fill out the secure electronic form for exam requests and exam taker enrollment. This was given to you in your welcome email and can be provided to you by your ExamSoft contact.
- Email invitation: Watch for an email inviting you to your CJE Benchmark exam administration portal. It will come from from noreply@examsoft.com. Use the link in the email to create your password.
- Bookmark the site address: After logging in, create a bookmark for the site to make it easy to find.
- Set your timezone: This ensures that your exam dates and times will be accurate. See: Enterprise Portal: Manage Time Zones
Note: The portal timezone cannot be updated; only the administrative and student timezones can be updated.
Exam Posting
Create and Post an Exam
Inside of your course, you will see all exams pertaining to your topic requests, as well as all exam-takers separated by the sections that you provided to us.
- Choose the first exam to administer. We recommend that you always start with the open check and allow feedback before moving to Benchmark I and then Benchmark II.
- Manage your post settings.
- Password: The system creates a random password. You can change it, if you wish.
- Student Selection: You will add the exam-takers by section. Select the button to open the exam-taker list, and then select the plus button for each exam-taker that you want to add.
(Optional) Select the filter button to view only the exam-takers in a particular section.
- Dates:
- Schedule Date: Enter the date and time for the exam.
Open Check: This exam may be open for an extended period of time. Enter a Scheduled Date that aligns with the date when the open check becomes available.
Benchmark I and II: These exams must be proctored and treated as a high-stakes assessments. These exams are not permitted to be open for an extended period of time.
- Download Start: Exam-takers should be able to start downloading the exam 24 hours before the exam schedule date.
- Download End: The download period should end at the exam end time. If the exam is 75 minutes and the start time is 1:00pm, then the download end will be 2:15pm.
- Schedule Date: Enter the date and time for the exam.
- Remote Assessment Deletion: Select the checkbox to enable this feature, and enter a time that is 1 minute past the Download End Time.
- Ping and Release: (Optional) This option provides extra security. However, it requires internet access at the start of the exam. If that is not always possible for your exam-takers, then we do not recommend selecting this option.
- Email Reminders: (Optional) If selected, this option will send the exam-taker a reminder at the date and time that you set.
- ExamID and ExamMonitor: (Optional) If you have Exam Integrity HR and wish to set ExamID and ExamMonitor, you can do so at the bottom of the posting. Please note: this will use credits purchased by your institution.
- Finalize and Post: When ready, select the green Finalize button at the top of the page.

(If Needed) Post Additional Copies for Other Sections
If you need to schedule a CJE for more than one section, create and post the exam (as described above), then duplicate the exam and post it with different date/time settings. The Linked option is selected so that you'll have combined reports for all sections.

Exam Day
When the download period begins, select the Proctoring tab to review the exam-takers' progress in downloading their exams and uploading their answer files.
Other actions on this page:
- Access continuation codes (resume codes). Please review the article about challenge keys and continuation codes (resume codes) before releasing any of these codes to exam-takers.
- Review your assessment password.
- Increase downloads for individual exam-takers if they need to switch devices or have technical difficulties that require an additional download.
- You can also send email to the exam-takers.
After the Exam
