What does the Enterprise portal have to offer?
The Enterprise portal provides a modern, easier to use platform that will support the core functionality of the Legacy portal and offer improved accessibility, scalability for future updates, and clearer compliance to security protocols such as TX-RAMP.
What is the Migration Beta?
The ExamSoft Migration Beta is an important early step in our long term goals to move customers off of the Legacy portal and onto our newer streamlined Enterprise portal.
How can this migration hub help you transition?
The migration hub should serve as your go-to resource for transitioning to the Enterprise portal. Within this article and related articles, you’ll find detailed information on migration timelines, stages, FAQs, video tutorials, and demos. Be sure to check back regularly, as we will continuously update the page to support you through every step of the migration process.
What is required of beta participants?
Participants in the beta migration act as user-testers, working with Turnitin to test and gain feedback on our pre-migration (planning) and post-migration (adoption) processes and supporting materials as well as validation of tooling. To move forward with beta, you will agree to:
- Attend kick off session
- Outlines breadth of migration onboarding and training requirements
- Maintain adherence to migration timeline
- Complete all training modules in the online training prior to live session Q&A
- Attend live session Q&A webinars or watch recordings
- All milestones must be completed prior to any data migration
- Provide feedback to Turnitin on migration
- Complete mid cohort survey (10-15 minutes)
- Complete exit survey/interview about their experience (20-30 minutes)
- Be available to answer questions and participate with troubleshooting
- Understand the potential for failure
- As a beta, there is some risk of failure
- However, Turnitin has mitigation strategies to restore Legacy portal access if the migration does not work as intended
- Observe defined portal blackout periods
- No portal use during 3-day data migration
- No portal use during troubleshooting (if required)
- Use only existing workflows and integrations
- No new integrations not previously established in Legacy
- No new workflows not previously established in Legacy
- Understand Enterprise adoption
- There is no option to "dual deploy" (run Legacy and Enterprise consecutively)
- No reverting back to Legacy once migration is complete and successful (works as
intended)
How will we learn how to use Enterprise?
Participants must complete online training prior to data migration or portal usage.
- Up to 10 licenses will be provided to access online training modules
- Approximately 6 hours of online training modules including:
- Portal Administration
- Question Creation & Management
- Question Importing
- Assessment Building
- Exam Day Preparation
- Scoring Adjustments & Reporting
- Turnitin will host Q&A group webinars for all beta participants to address questions related to the online training modules.
- Please complete the corresponding online training before attending.
- For large faculty numbers, Turnitin recommends a core group of champions complete the
training modules who will then train the remaining faculty.
Note: Turnitin will not host live training webinars for end users
Turnitin will assign an Onboarding Consultant as your point of contact, responsible for overseeing your migration engagement including:
- Creating the Enterprise portal and providing access to a Sandbox department
- Transferring Legacy settings to the Enterprise portal
- Facilitating data migration
- Coordinating with internal teams as necessary
- Addressing migration and Enterprise-related questions not relevant to group sessions
- Ensuring milestones are met
Note: We advise that you have identified an internal administrator (or project manager) to work on the migration under the guidance of the assigned Onboarding Consultant.
