Examplify: Spreadsheet, Scientific Calculator, and Graphing Calculator

The following Question Tools might be enabled for your assessment.

Note: A basic calculator also might be enabled. See: Examplify: Use the Basic Calculator During an Assessment

Spreadsheet

If this tool is enabled, select the spreadsheet icon above the question stem to open the spreadsheet tool.

You can enter data, formulas, and use functions, similar to other spreadsheet programs. See Examplify: Working with Spreadsheets for details on features and formula functions currently supported by Examplify.

In some cases, the exam-maker might pre-populate the spreadsheet with data, formulas, charts, and so on for you to use when answering the question.

When finished, return to the question by selecting the left-arrow icon next to the question number (near the top left corner of the screen). Your entries will be saved automatically when you close the spreadsheet.

If you are using your keyboard to navigate an exam, you can use Shift + Esc to close a dialogue box that may be on top of the spreadsheet

Graphing Calculator

If this tool is enabled, select the calculator icon above the question.

When the calculator window opens, select Graphing (near the bottom of the left panel).

Then use the graphing calculator to create your graph.

Additional tools appear in the left panel. 

  • Keyboard: Select the keyboard icon (near the bottom left corner of the panel) to display a screen keyboard, where you can select symbols and functions.

  • Add: Select the + icon (near the top left corner of the panel) to enter expressions, add read-only text, insert tables, create folders, and add images.

  • List Options: Select the gear icon to convert graphic functions into tables and to duplicate or remove entered functions.

  • Graphing Configuration: Select the wrench icon to alter graph axes, configure Braille options, and set other grid options.

  • Zoom In/ Zoom Out: Use these buttons to zoom in or out on the grid. 
  • Home: After zooming in or out, select the home button to return to the configured grid dimensions.

When finished, return to the question by selecting the left-arrow icon next to the question number (near the top left corner of the screen).

Scientific Calculator

If this tool is enabled, select the calculator icon to use the scientific calculator .

When the calculator window opens, select Scientific (near the bottom of the left panel).

Within the Scientific calculator window, you can view a full alphabetical letter, and display options under the  Icon. You also can configure the calculator to be in degrees or radian.

When finished, return to the question by selecting the left-arrow icon next to the question number (near the top left corner of the screen).
