Enterprise Portal: Add and Manage Course Sections

Before You Begin

To create and manage sections, you must have course administrator privileges or higher.

 

Procedures

 

Create a Course Section

  1. Log in to your ExamSoft portal.
  2. Select the course.
  3. Select the Sections tab (at the top of the screen).

  4. Select the Create Section button (near the top right corner of the screen).
  5. Enter a descriptive Section Name to help you to identify this section in ExamSoft.

    Note: This field does not allow these characters: \ / " : * ? < >

  6. Enter a Section ID.

    Note: Optionally, you can select the Include Course ID as prefix checkbox if you want to prepend the section ID with the course ID. For example, if you enter S1 for the Section ID, and the course ID is ENGL101, then the section ID will appear as ENGL101S1 on the various ExamSoft screens where the section ID is shown. You'll also use this combined course-and-section ID if you are importing exam-takers from a file.

  7. (Optional) Select Select Students to assign exam-takers to this section. Then use the slide-out window to select individuals from the list of exam-takers who are assigned to the course.

    Note: You also can assign exam-takers by importing a file. See: Enterprise Portal: Import Exam-Taker Information from an Excel File

  8. Select Save.

 

Edit or Delete a Course Section

  1. On the course page, select the Sections tab.
  2. Find the section in the list.
  3. Select the pencil icon (on the right side of the page).

  4. Make the changes:
    • To edit: Change the details or assign exam-takers. For more information about these options, see "Create a Course Section" (above).
    • To delete: Select the Delete button (near the top right corner of the page). Then select Delete to confirm. This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
