As an Institution or Department Admin, you might find it easier to set up your courses by importing the information from an Excel spreadsheet.
Procedures
Enter the Information in the XLS Template
- Download the XLS Template.
- Open the template.
- To ensure that all data is properly formatted: Select all cells, right-click, select Format Cells, and then select Text as the format category.
- Enter the information for the courses that you want to import.
- Column A - Course ID: Enter a unique identifier for this course. It can include letters, numbers, or special characters. There is a 50-character limit for this field. This field is required.
- Column B - Course Name: Enter a unique and descriptive name for this course. It can include letters, numbers, or special characters. There is no character limit. This field is required.
- Column C - Start Date: Enter the start date in this format: YYYY-MM-DD
- Column D - End Date: Enter the end date in this format: YYYY-MM-DD
- Column G - Admin Emails - (Optional) List the email address(es) of the admin(s) that need edit rights for this course.
Example
- Save the file.
Import the Data from the Excel File
- In your ExamSoft Portal, navigate to your list of courses.
- Near the top right corner of the My Courses page, select Import Courses.
- Drag and drop the file or browse for the file.
- If your import is successful: A green confirmation message appears near the top of the page. The new courses and all related information are listed on the page.
- If any information was not accepted: A red error message appears near the top of the page.
