Course Sync Questions
Q. What can I do if some or all courses are not syncing?
- Make sure that each course in the sync list has an instructor name assigned.
Q. What can I do if some or all students are missing from a sync?
- Verify that the correct role is selected.
- Verify their accounts have an ID for the matching field selected within the Blackboard configuration pane.
Q. I was able to sync my course, but I cannot see my student(s)?

The student "role" must match the designated role when configuring the integration. The student must be set to available in the course for their account to sync. A valid First Name, Last Name, and Email Address are required. They also must have the ID type populated that was selected when configuring the integration (Username, Student ID).
Grade Push Questions
Q. Why does a login window appear in ExamSoft while I'm trying to push grades?
In this situation, please do not try to log in as it will not work. On the Blackboard configuration pane, turn on Enable Grade Push.
Q. How do I resolve an error message saying "your LMS user does not have the rights to modify Grade Center or Push Grades"?
- In Blackboard, add the affected user to the course as an Instructor.
Q. How do I resolve an error about failing to find the selected course?
- Make sure that your sync list includes that course, and then perform a manual sync.
- Verify that this course is selected in the assessment posting that you're trying to push grades from.
- Try to push the grades again.
Q. Why did I receive a green success message (column created), but no grades pushed?
The column could have been created manually with one value type and then the grades are pushed as a conflicting value.
- Check the Student IDs and make sure that they match to the value selected in the building block.
- If you are using email addresses as the student ID, this can cause a sync issue because we strip the @ symbol before importing them into the portal. In this specific scenario, we highly recommend selecting a different ID type to sync for Student IDs. Contact your CSM before making this change.
Q. Why was grade push working and now all of a sudden it isn’t?
- Check with your IT/LMS team to see if any updates were made to your Blackboard instance.
- Moving to SaaS/Ultra requires ExamSoft to update information in your portal to allow grade push.
