Examplify: Application Service Unavailable (Mac)

If you are receiving an error that says The Application’s Service Unavailable or NATIVE-MSG-SRV-UNAVAILABLE on your Mac, follow one of the three solutions below to fix the error.  

 

Troubleshooting steps

  1.  Restart the device.  After rebooting, attempt to launch Examplify again.

    Note: On slower devices, it might take a minute or two for the application service to start.

  2. If the operating system is MacOS Ventura or later, you may need to enable the Allow Background Items setting to successfully open Examplify. To check this:
    1. Select the Apple Icon and navigate to System Settings > General > Login Items.
    2. Under Allow in the Background, ensure ExamSoft Worldwide, Inc. is enabled.

    3. Once this setting is enabled, the user should attempt to launch Examplify again.
  3. Enter the following commands into Terminal, and then restart the device:
    • sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.examsoft.ExamplifyService.plist
    • sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.examsoft.ExamplifyService.plist
