Canvas: Push a Course to the ExamSoft Legacy Portal

 

Procedure

  1. Navigate to your course in Canvas.
  2. Select Modules (in the navigation pane on the left-hand side).
  3. Launch the ExamSoft API.
  4. Navigate directly to page 3. It is extremely important to NOT touch any settings on pages 1, 2, or 4.
  5. Add courses to the module:
    • Enter the course ID in the selected format into the Course ID List field. This format is chosen by your Administrator, and may only be one of three selected formats (Course ID, Reference ID, or SIS ID).
    • If you wish to enter multiple courses, the course IDs must be comma-separated and must reflect the selected format. 
  6. Select Save (at the bottom of the page).

    Your course(s) will appear in the Sync List. If you do not have any Course Dates assigned within your Canvas instance, you can set course end date in the Course Date Range field.

  7. When you're done adding courses to the Sync List, select Sync Now.

 

Next Steps

In your ExamSoft Portal, review the course settings and make changes, as needed. For example, you can add course admins, adjust the score thresholds for reporting purposes, and enable ExamID and ExamMonitor (if applicable). See: Legacy Portal: Course Management
