You can manage the baseline images for Exam ID if you have access to the Exam Integrity features in the Enterprise Portal or the Legacy Portal. 

Clearing a baseline image is helpful if the exam-taker's image is having problems validating. 

Note: Validation problems can be caused by shadows on the face during a baseline image, dark rooms when the image was taken, or other camera issues such as focus or facial alignment.  If the exam-taker was wearing a hat or even glasses with a lot of glare, this can cause issues when trying to validate using ExamID for future assessments.  It is recommended in these cases that you clear the baseline and ask the exam-taker to address these issues (e.g. by removing hats or glasses or reducing glare) and then retake the baseline image. 

Uploading a baseline image is a simple process.  All you need is an image in JPG format.

Clear a Baseline Image

1. Select the Exam Integrity button in your portal.
   • If you are using the Legacy Portal: Look for the Exam Integrity button under your black menu bar.
   • If you are using the Enterprise Portal: Select the course and then select the Exam Integrity tab.
2. To reset, select the Students tab, and then select the exam-taker's name.

   

3. Select Clear Baseline (on the right side of the baseline image).

   

4. Select Yes to clear this baseline.

   

   Note: The baseline image is now cleared.  Your ExamID baseline circle will be blank. The exam-taker can now relaunch the assessment, and a new baseline will be requested.  

   
   
   

Upload a Baseline Image

1. Select the Exam Integrity button in your portal.
   • If you are using the Legacy Portal: Look for the Exam Integrity button under your black menu bar.
   • If you are using the Enterprise Portal: Select the course and then select the Exam Integrity tab.
2. To upload a baseline image, select the Students tab, and then select the exam-taker's name.

   

3. Select Upload Baseline.

   Note: You can do this with an existing image in place (which will overwrite the existing baseline) or from a file with no baseline.  You can only use this feature if the exam-taker is included in an assessment posting with ExamID enabled.

4. Crop the picture as needed, and then select Save.

   

   ExamID will use the new image to validate the exam-taker from this point forward.
