Map: User Accounts and Permissions

Types of User Accounts

• Users access Map through the Liftupp Portal.
• There are three types of user account for Map in the Liftupp Portal:  

Super Admin

• Able to create, edit and delete user accounts, similar to an Institutional Admin in Enterprise Portal and a Key Administrator in Legacy Portal.
• Unable to access the Map tool.
• ExamSoft will create a Super Admin account for the individual responsible for administering Map at your institution.
• The Super Admin will then manage all additional staff accounts. Please reach out to your Super Admin if you require access.

Map Product Admin

• Can edit the permissions of other Map users, except Super Admins.
• Able to access the Map tool to create and edit documents manually, map documents, run coverage reports and create archives.
• Can also upload documents as CSV files when assigned the Mapping-CSV Upload individual permission by the Super Admin.

Map Staff User

• Able to access the Map tool to create and edit documents manually, map documents, run coverage reports and create archives.
• Unable to view or edit other Map users.

All three types of user accounts listed above provide the user with edit permissions. It is not currently possible to grant read-only access; therefore, if you don't want a user to have edit permissions, they should not be provided with a user account in the Liftupp Portal. For this reason, ExamSoft recommends restricting user accounts to high-level faculty/admins only.

 

User Account Permissions

You must assign manually the following permission groups and individual permissions to each type of user account.

Note: If you are a Super Admin and need access to the Map tool, you should assign both the Super Admin and Map Product Admin permission groups to your account.
