Problem:
An Exam Taker does not see an applied accommodation rule (such as extra time, spell check, or non-secure exam access) displayed in Examplify before taking a downloaded exam.
Potential Causes:
The accommodation rule was applied after the exam taker downloaded the exam.
Solution/Troubleshooting:
Accommodation rules must be applied before the exam is downloaded to take effect in Examplify. If the accommodation is applied afterward, the ET will need to remove and re-download the exam to sync the changes.
Verify the Accommodation Rule is Applied
- Ask the ET to open Examplify.
- Have them locate their upcoming exam in the dashboard.
- Click the exam to view the exam information section.
- If the accommodation rule is active, it will display (e.g., “Extra Time Granted,” “Spell Check Enabled,” “Non-Secure”).
- If the accommodation does not appear, continue to the next steps.
Remove and Re-Download the Exam
NOTE: Removing the exam only deletes the local download on the device. It does not remove access to the exam in the system.
- Confirm that the exam download window is still open.
- Instruct the ET to open Examplify.
- Ask them to locate the affected exam and click Remove Download.
- Once removed, have them re-download the exam from the dashboard.
- After downloading, verify that the accommodation now appears in the exam info section.
Important Notes:
- If the ET downloaded the exam before the accommodation rule was applied, the rule will not apply unless the exam is removed and re-downloaded.
- If the accommodation should only apply to one exam, use the exam-level settings instead of assigning the rule to the ET’s profile.
- Account-level accommodation rules remain active and will automatically apply to all future exam downloads while enabled. If the accommodation is intended for a single exam only, be sure to remove the rule from the Exam-Taker’s account before they download any additional exams.
