Enterprise Portal: Release the Results of an Assessment

After taking an assessment, the exam-takers will benefit from reviewing their results and receiving guidance about the material. They can evaluate their own progress, identify the material to review, and make any necessary adjustments in their study strategies for the next assessment.

You can choose which information you want to release and when to release it. If you wish, you can allow a certain amount of time for the review and then unrelease the results to prevent further access to the assessment information.

Procedures

Open the Assessment Reporting Tab

  1. Log in to your institution's ExamSoft Portal.
  2. Select the course and the assessment.
  3. Select the Reporting/Adjust Scoring tab.

    Tips:

    • Student Overview: Select this checkbox if you want to release the exam-taker's score and statistics.
    • Class Performance: Select this checkbox if you want to release the overall class performance, including the average score and other statistics.
    • Category Performance: Select this checkbox if you want to release the exam-taker's performance per category in the assessment.
    • Questions: Select this checkbox if you want to include information about the questions in the assessment. With this selection, the report will include the question stem and answer text for all questions. However, you can make further selections:
      • Only release incorrect questions: Includes only the questions that this exam-taker answered incorrectly. This can be a good choice so that you are not sharing the full assessment with exam-takers.
      • Release with rationale - Includes the rationale (if provided in the question settings).
      • Release answer choice only; without question stem or answer text: For multiple choice questions, includes only the answer letter. This can be a good option if you are planning to do an in-class review in which you display the question text via presentation slides or a screen share. This way, the exam-takers do not have access to the question text.
      • Release Grader Notes: For essay questions, includes any notes submitted by the grader.
    • In Section 2, you can release the results immediately or on a later date.
    • In Section 3, you can select individuals, or select all exam-takers by selecting the plus button in the header row.

  4. When finished, scroll up and select the Schedule Release button (near the top right corner of the page).

The results will be released as scheduled.

Note: After the scheduled release, the exam-takers will be able to log in to the ExamSoft Portal, select this course, go to the Completed tab (for completed assessments), and view the results. The exam-taker portal is shown below.
