Steps to Take
Watch the video below to learn how to verify your device's specifications against Examplify's minimum system requirements. Please feel free to pause and review the steps or adjust the playback speed as needed. Otherwise, review an overview of the steps below.
1. Use a Supported Browser
Examplify is only compatible with specific, secure browsers to process your institution's login credentials. Ensure you have one of the following installed on your computer:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
Note: Browsers like Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer may cause the authentication process to hang or fail.
2. Clear Your Browser’s Cache
Ensure you are using either Chrome or Firefox to access the ExamSoft Portal and follow the steps in the Clear your browser’s cache article.
If you attempt to log in again and the loop persists, proceed to the specific steps for your browser below.
3. Chrome: Adjust Cookie Settings
Chrome often blocks the third-party security cookies ExamSoft requires to authenticate your identity across portal pages.
- Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of Chrome and select Settings.
- Click Privacy and Security on the left menu, then select Third-party cookies (or Site Settings > Cookies and site data depending on your browser version).
- Ensure third-party cookies are allowed, or scroll down to "Sites allowed to use cookies" and click Add.
-
Separately, add the following two web addresses as exceptions:
- Close and restart Chrome, then try logging in again.
4. Firefox: Disable Enhanced Tracking Protection
Firefox includes a built-in protective shield that blocks trackers, which can interfere with the ExamSoft authentication process.
- Go to the ExamSoft login portal where you are experiencing the loop.
- Look at the address bar at the very top of the screen. Locate the Shield icon directly to the left of the URL web address.
- Click the shield icon to open the dropdown drop-menu.
- Click the toggle switch to turn OFF "Enhanced Tracking Protection is ON for this site."
- Repeat this step for any redirect pages or school login portals you hit during the login sequence.
- Restart Firefox and log back in.
