Device Does Not Meet Requirements
Problem
If you’re seeing an error message in Examplify that your device doesn’t meet the recommendations or requirements, don't panic! This usually means a quick system update or a little digital spring cleaning will get you ready for exam day. Follow these steps to check your device, update your settings, and clear the error.

1. Verify Your Device Specifications
Follow the steps in the Meets Requirements article to verify your device specifications. If they do not meet Examplify’s requirements, follow the steps below for the specific error:
2. Check Your Operating System & Processor
If you receive an error about your operating system or processor, compare your current operating system version with the official ExamSoft Minimum System Requirements page.
- If you need an update: Run a standard Windows Update or Mac Software Update to get your machine current.
- Important Warning: If a brand-new operating system (like a major new macOS or Windows version) just launched, do not upgrade to it yet! Wait until your instructor or institution gives you the green light, as brand-new software releases are often not immediately supported by Examplify. You can also see if our Minimum System requirements page has been updated to reflect new operating system versions being supported.
3. Clear Up Hard Drive Space
If you are running low on space, take a few minutes to clear up room. Delete old files, empty your Recycle Bin or Trash, or clear out heavy items in your "Downloads" folder.
4. RAM (Memory)
Unlike software or storage, RAM is a physical part of your computer and cannot be fixed with a quick download or update.
If your device does not have enough RAM, you will need to contact your device's manufacturer to discuss a hardware upgrade, or borrow a device that does meet Examplify’s minimum system requirements for exam day.
